Thinking of buying your own holiday home caravan,

Your Questions answered.

   

What do I do first? Please read this leaflet – it is full of facts and information.
   
How long is the season?  We are open from 26/02/2010 to 9/01/2011. We must close for approx 6 weeks.
   
Can I visit the park out of season? By all means, however due to the risk of frost damage the water supplies will be disconnected during the shut down period. Due to our site license the caravan must not be slept in, but visitors are welcome during office hours.
   
What services are provided ? Mains water, electric and drainage. Gas is supplied in cylinders.
   
How about electricity? All caravans are individually metered, the meters are usually read in November of each year. There is a service charge for the supply of electricity.
   
What about gas? Gas is supplied in 47kg cylinders. It is advised that you have 2 cylinders per caravan. Gas is paid for at the time of ordering, we do not operate a credit facility for it.
   
How do we pay for our water? The water charge is included in the rates charge listed below.
   
How long can a caravan stay on the park.? The age limit for any caravan on the park is 20 years, however caravans cannot be sold or passed on to a third party after they are 10 years of age.
   
Do I have to choose a caravan from stock.? No, should your requirements not be met by any of our new or used caravans, our agents SALOP LEISURE who are based in Shrewsbury can provide you with all makes and models of caravans.
   
Can I purchase a used caravan.? Yes, we normally have a selection of used caravans in stock.
   
Can I bring pets ? Yes, however only caravan owners can bring their pets on to the park and they must be kept on a lead at all times.
   
Can I Hire Out My caravan ? Yes you may sub let your caravan, the company does not undertake to sub let on your behalf.

 Pitch fees are payable by the 1st April, or the 1st March if you are going to occupy the caravan in March.

 The Following are optional.

 

Caravan Insurance. (iii) New for old.

Per £1000 insured.    £11.00

Caravan Insurance. (iii) Market value.

Per £1000 insured.    £ 16.75

 

(i)                 Electric units. The individual caravan meters are read at the end of the season.

(ii)               Caravan insurance is optional through the park, however ALL CARAVANS MUST BE ADEQUATELY INSURED,

               a copy of your up to date policy must be supplied to the office. 

At the end of the season we also offer a Drain Down Service, which protects your caravan from frost.

We drain the water system in the caravan and blow through the pipes with compressed air, we then place anti freeze in the toilet bowl. We re-connect the caravans ready for April 1st the following year, or upon request if you require using the caravan in March. 

If you sub let your holiday home it is a legal requirement that all the gas appliances are serviced annually to keep them in a safe and efficient condition. In order to achieve this the appliances must be checked at intervals of not more than 12 months.
